BBB Education Alliance Presents BBB ScamBusters

Vision:  To become a front line resource of information for consumers, seniors and job seekers about the ways scam artists are targeting the community during challenging economic times. To help them to be able to make well informed charitable and buying decisions.

Mission: To create the BBB ScamBusters to aid in avoidance of scams through education.

Employment Security Commission

The mission of the Employment Security Commission is to promote and sustain the economic well being of North Carolinians in the world marketplace by providing high quality and accessible workforce-related services.

The Commission provides employment services, unemployment insurance, and labor market information to the State's workers, employers, and the public.

The Enrichment Center

The Enrichment Center's Employment Gateway provides employers qualified employees who receive on the job training support from a job coach at no cost to the employer. The job coaches train the individuals to the employer's specifications and work with them until they are able to do the job 100% on their own, providing the employer a dependable worker who is guaranteed to get the job done.

Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR)

Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR) has been successfully delivering holistic services to families living in poverty and homelessness in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County for 45 years. Agency programs are provided through intensive case management and are individually tailored, drawing from areas that include employment counseling, vocational assistance, housing, childcare, transportation, budgeting, etc., with the goal of improving the economic situation for families and the community.

Goodwill Industries of Northwest NC

Goodwill provides free, comprehensive personalized career services for job seekers including resume-writing assistance, skills assessment, career counseling, access to computers and Internet, help with interviewing skills and placement services. Goodwill also provides free services for employers including hosting job fairs and prescreening applicants, placement services that provide employers with well-trained, matched applicants for jobs in a variety of industries, Job Readiness training, career assessments, and job coaching for existing staff or potential hires. Other services offered include skills training classes in a variety of fields such as healthcare, office technology and skilled trades and customized training for employers.

Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board

The mission of the Northwest Piedmont Workforce Development Board is to ensure that the local Workforce Development system is market-driven by meeting the employment workforce needs in the region.

Professionals in Transition

Professionals In Transition (PIT(r)) is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that has been providing emotional support, resume help, networking, and job-search tools and techniques since 1992.

Winston-Salem Urban League

The mission of the Winston-Salem Urban League is "to enable African American, other minorities and the disadvantaged to secure economic self reliance, parity, power and civil rights." The credo, "Empowering Communities...Changing Lives", supports the concept that given the proper tools, everyone can succeed!

 

Work Family Resource Center

Work Family Resource Center is a private, non-profit organization that provides     

consumer education, referrals and resources to promote quality child care in

our community.  Parents accessing WFRC’s website can obtain information

about choosing quality child care and can even search and download referral

information to local child care programs online.    WFRC also offers child care

subsidies to income eligible parents to help offset the cost of child care.

CHANGE

CHANGE (Communities Helping All Neighbors Gain Empowerment) is the largest and most diverse community organizing group in the Piedmont Triad. Committed to building a stronger community, CHANGE develops relationships across racial, ethnic, economic, political, social, and religious lines and provides a space for people to participate in democracy.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Forsyth County

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Forsyth County (CCCS) provides counseling in personal money management including budget, credit, credit report review, default housing, and foreclosure intervention. CCCS was established in 1972, is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, is a United Way partner agency, and is accredited through the Council on Accreditation.

City of Winston-Salem

The mission of the City of Winston-Salem is to provide quality, affordable services that ensure the health, safety and well-being of citizens, while collaborating throughout the community to ensure its economic, social and environmental vitality.

Forsyth County

The mission of Forsyth County government is to help create a community which is safe and healthy, convenient and pleasant to live in, with educational and economic opportunities for everyone. We cooperate with many other public agencies and community organizations in this mission.

Forsyth Technical Community College

Forsyth Technical Community College is a comprehensive community college providing technical, transfer, adult basic education, corporate and continuing education programs, and support services that are innovative, flexible and responsive to student and community needs. The college also supports economic growth and opportunity through work force development and community development through partnerships with public and private sectors. Graduates of Forsyth Tech are technically skilled, regionally and globally oriented, and prepared for lifelong learning and full civic participation.
